I teach a variety of classes on international relations theory, U.S. foreign policy and grand strategy, and thematic security issues. My overarching objective is to equip students with the analytic tools and historical awareness to address important scholarly and policy questions on international relations and national security issues.
To this end, I strive to make my courses interactive, adaptive, and dynamic: blending instructional formats to maximize student opportunities to engage both myself and their colleagues in dialogue, to master course themes, and to connect scholarly conversations with policy debates (and vice versa).
